Spin Cycles” is an in-depth look at the relationship between politics, business, journalism and public relations. It was produced by Ira Basen and it originally broadcast in 2007 on The Sunday Edition.

Every day we are inundated with messages. Messages from politicians and from business leaders explaining their ideas and solutions for the ongoing global financial crisis. But, in that sea of words, how do you know what to believe? Shocking as it may sound, sometimes those politicians and leaders have their best interests at heart, and not our own.

In this episode, and for the next 5 on And the Winner Is… we’ll try to help you navigate that sea of words, as we present “Spin Cycles: A Series About Spin, the Spinners and the Spun.”

And after listening to the series, you’ll never hear or read the news in the same way again.

The first episode starts at the very beginning. It’s called the First Century of Spin.
